Diego Pinzon Rubiano M.A.
Somatic Psychotherapist
Diego works with the body as well as the mind. Diego helps people discover patterns, often unconscious, that you may have understood for years yet still feel stuck inside. For many people, understanding is only half the journey. The body holds the other half.
People come to Diego with what they're moving through such as trauma, patterns that no longer serve them, stress, feeling stuck in their heads and disconnected from their bodies, intimacy and sexuality, and a longing for meaning and direction. Sessions blend psychological insight, breath, movement, and embodied awareness, working directly with the blocks and holdings the body carries, always at a pace the body can integrate. This work can complement existing talk therapy or stand on its own.
Diego holds an M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology (Sofia University, California, USA) and a B.Sc. in Psychology, along with a Diploma in Psychedelics and Health (University of Antioquia, Colombia). He trains in Core Energetics, a body-based psychotherapy rooted in the work of Wilhelm Reich, Alexander Lowen, and John Pierrakos, under the Institute of Body Psychotherapy in Brisbane, working under regular clinical supervision.
People often describe feeling more vitality and ease, a deeper sense of inner alignment and harmony, more genuine connection with themselves and others, and a growing clarity about who they are and where they're going. Moments of real joy and aliveness, often long absent, begin to return, and life becomes something not just understood, but fully inhabited.
Diego also offers psychedelic integration, supporting people to process and make meaning of difficult or expansive experiences from psychedelics and other non-ordinary states. He brings years of experience in psychedelic education, contributions to pioneering research initiatives, and co-authorship of peer-reviewed publications in the field, and currently works as a trainer and consultant with the Psychedelic Institute Australia.
Originally from Colombia, Diego offers sessions in English and Spanish, in person or online. His practice is warm and affirming of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
As Diego is in his final year of training, he offers low-cost sessions at $80 for 50–55 minutes, available Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
